Our Clients: Are not simply a source
of revenue, but are people deserving of legal services that are realistic, practical, and problem-prevention oriented. It
is easy to provide a product over and over, but it is hard to provide a service tailored to each client. This is a fundamental
principle of our practice and we value those clients who want a firm that approaches law from this perspective. They
deserve to have complete and upfront information about our charges and fees, as well as the realities and risks of their
situation. In return, we are deserving of full payment for our services and to have clients who listen to us and, when they
make their decisions, be willing to understand the uncertainties of the same and own their decisions. The client is "boss"
not the attorney.

Our Faith: We have our own personal beliefs
in in God and we do not limit God's impact on us and those with whom we work and serve. We believe that
God is much, much bigger than anything that we can comprehend and that our obligation,in terms of the law and our services,
is not to project any constraints or black and white rules on God's love of each of us and how he communicates with
us. Each of us at Plowden Hall does her work centered around her strong faith and belief in God. We respect
the faith (any differences from ours)of each client, as God is much bigger than our limited and small minds and egos. We
do practice from a perspective of our deep connection with God, a God that may be accepted and loved by people from
many different perspectives. We believe that our legal services to our clients, without our own and deeply personal relationship
swith God, are without true foundation.

Our Families: We are each blessed to have
wonderful children and families. Even though we arguably care about our clients beyond that of a "mere"
client, our families do come first and our office hours reflect this. We are in this world to share it closely with only
a few people, such as parents and children, and we value this opportunity and want to make the most of it while we are here.
Our clients tend to have the same values and emphases on the family and their children. Included in our definition of family
are those very close friends with whom we have had the privilege of being so close for most of our lives. We believe
that you can tell so much about a person, and how they would practice law, by their family relationships and the length
and strength of their personal friendships.

Ourselves: It is not only a privilege
to be involved in legal services, it is a privilege to be here on this earth and we believe that we must pay some real attention
to ourselves in order to be effective at work and in life. Some clients embrace the quid pro quo of concern and support and
some do not. The latter are probably not the right clients for our firm, as we have made a commitment to surrounding ourselves,
in work and in play, with those who have these same values. We have learned no to continue with clients that have very differingt
values (the hard way sometimes) but we are commited to serving clients that only make us better, and visa versa! There
is nothing worse than an attorney who does not serve your interest and needs except for the legal client who comes
from a set of completely different principles and values. We feel strongly that we must make sure that we are the
right firm for potential clients and not do a disservice to those who do not share our values. A client is more
than a file, a task, a document, a closing, a problem to be handled. Therefore, mutual values must be shared to have effective
communication, respect, and to be on the same page.
Our Community: We consider
ourselves privileged to be able to live and provide services in Transylvania County. Jeanne Hall and her Husband, Mark,
decided almost 10 years ago to move to a place where they could work and retire. In 1971 Jeanne attended Rockbrook Camp
for the third time, but in this particular year she had lost one of her best friends and several family members, and
her family was still healing from a divorce of her parents. Almost every day she sat at the outside chapel at Rockbrook
and looked at a mountain and prayed for strength. Approximately 27 years later she moved to Brevard, and now her new office
looks right at that mountain! She sits at her desk each day and thanks God for everything, even the challenges of
life. This community means so much more for her than just good schools, great culture, a wonderful library, a spiritual culture,
etc. This area brings Jeanne back to her core soul, and reminds her daily of why we should all be grateful every second
for our challenges and our gifts. Jennifer, Erika, Shannon, Hunter and Jeanne are in this area for personal reasons as well as the
positive energy, the close community, the beautiful environment and the wonderful schools and infrastructure. All of us at
Plowden Hall are committed to contributing as much as we can to this deserving community that gives us so much. That mountain
is there for all us, and we are so grateful to be here and to be a part of Transylvania and Brevard, as well as the larger
milieu of WNC!
